Ubisoft’s popular video game Assassin’s Creed, starring Michael Fassbender, will be released over Memorial Day weekend 2015, taking the date of May 22. So far, no director has been announced for the movie but with a date in place, one would expect that will change shortly. Also, 20th Century Fox has stepped in to distribute one of the more anticipated video game movies in recent years through their deal with co-producer New Regency Pictures.
They also have grabbed a date that’s wide open with no competing releases although it will open three weeks after Marvel’s The Avengers 2 and anyone who knows the general release date for previous “Star Wars” movies might be thinking J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII could be released a week before Memorial Day that same year.20th Century Fox will also be releasing a very different historic epic as they’ve set a date for Ridley Scott’s next movie, which looks to be his telling of the story of Moses called Exodus. That’s been dated for December 12, 2014, but before that date was set, it wasn’t clear whether that might be Scott’s next movie or not. A few months back, it was reported that Christian Bale was in talks to play the role of Moses although nothing has been confirmed on that end either.
